Audacity

I'm talking about Audacity the sound editing program, not the audacity of a particular student who keeps wearing earphones in class.

Audacity is an example of open source software. Open Source software are programs that the authors allow users to use and adapt for free. The source code is available unlike traditional software. The website Sourceforge, is a great place to look for this kind of software.

Audacity is an audio editor. It allows you to take digital audio information and process it in a variety of ways. It is the program that we will be using to create our podcasts.

Audacity can be downloaded for free from http://www.sourceforge.org
