The Big One.....

This is it. Today you are starting your big, summative 30% of your mark project.

The goal of this project will be to create and plan a viable small business that could operate as a summer employment opportunity for you during the summer. Key points to remember:

It must follow all provincial and municipal regulations;
It must be a realistic and valid opportunity for a summer job;
It must have the potential to generate an income;
It must be financially sound to start; and
Your presentation will make use of the many computer skills you have learned this year.

Your first task is to:

-develop an idea for a business;
-create a business plan; and
-create a budget.

Details will be discussed in class. Below are some links to get you started.

Lucky you, I am away today.

Today, Madeeha will be showing you some of the things we covered with the other class yesterday.

First, you will get an introduction to the wiki. After Madeeha gives you a tour and has shown you your photoshop assignment, you will have a chance to register for the wiki. I will approve the registrations later in the day and you will be able to access the site.

Wiki Rules:

1. I read everything. Ask Maryam.
2. All rule of respect and responsibility apply. Your mothers might see this (notice I am not centering you out Mohammed...)
3. You will get marked on your contributions to the wiki and the forum, not the chat area.
4. You may use the gallery, but images may not be more than 600 pixels wide or high (72 dpi).
5. When you get to this point, tell Sadaf to get off Facebook and do her work.
6. You must register with your first name. I will not register silly screen names or names I don't recognize.
7. Contribute to the community, don't detract from it.

The wiki is located at http://woodbinejhs.ca/btt/wiki

Photoshop Assignment:

Your latest photoshop assignment is to use Photoshop Elements (at school, not at home) to create a completely original work of art. You can use any of the tools or filters but can not import anything. Madeeha will give you some ideas.

I expect to see a great deal of effort put into this. You do not have time for anything else. Tell Alexie to stop looking at video game sites.

While I don't expect any problems, the supply teacher will let me know of any and I will reward the class with another essay.

Have a wonderful day.
BTT Wiki

The address for the wiki is http://woodbinejhs.ca/btt/wiki
Photoshop

You have four images to complete for your first photoshop assignment.

The first two images are the downloaded files in the pickup folder that you were to crop using rules of composition and colour correct using the LEVELS.

The third was the FIXME.JPG image that your are to crop and colour correct.

The fourth, is your imaginative manipulation of one of the photos.

When the images are complete, save them in a folder with your name inside the CASE BTT folder in the drop off folder.

Note: you can also post your best work in the wiki!
